Become a Prophet of God

Author: Carol T

ProphecyFlierWe don’t all have the same spiritual gifts. And prophesy today is not what it was in the Old Testament. But wouldn’t it be fun to be a prophet for a day? well, maybe not, when you think of all the prophets went through and that most of them were killed by the people they were trying to help.

Prophecy, the Christian card game, allows you to be a prophet for a while, (at least to pretend), but it isn’t easy, trials and tribulation await, and God sometimes intervenes and sometimes chooses not to. The first prophet to make three prophecies wins. This is for ages 8 and up and for two to four players.

Keeping Christ in Our Youth Activity

Author: Carol T

combofluxx1I love the people who make Christian games out of secular games. I mean, that is my business for the most part. There are a lot of games out there that are fun to play and is are great youth group activities, but being able to use a Christian version sets an example that says we want to keep Christ in even our fun times.

Christian Fluxx is the same fun game and plays up to 6 people, so is good for Christian youth activities. It has been expanded with 7 Christian cards and gives the player a bonus for knowing or showing their faith. When you have a group time with your teens, put Christ in the center.

With the Assistance of a Church Mouse

Author: Carol T

Charlie_Elem_CPUAs Christian parents, we tend to look in dismay at the ratio of Christian training our children receive compared to the secular. School, friends, outside activities and TV tend to lead our children in different directions and God’s Word tells us is right and good. So many of our children fall by the wayside in their Christian walk as they grow.

One way to help our children gain the right instruction is by making playtime fun and Biblically educational. The Charlie the Church Mouse computer games do just that. A Christian computer game teaching Bible stories and also educational skills. This is a win-win for your child and they will love the familiar tales and age-based games. Charlie comes in three different age levels, preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary. He makes learning God’s Word fun and gives your child an increased Bible-time ratio.

It’s All About Horses

Author: Carol T

HerdYourHorses I remember having dreams when I was growing up about horses. Riding my horse along country roads, usually with minimal equipment, sometimes alone, sometimes with someone. It wasn’t possible to actually have a horse where I grew up, though I did have slight contact through friends and have a couple of stories to tell.

I think most kids love horses. They are beautiful, majestic animals who allow man to tame and befriend them. If your have a child who loves horses, they will love this educational game. They can play as a ranch hand or a horse. Learn interesting facts about different horse breeds. This also includes a solitaire game for those days to themselves.

Faith-the Substance of Things Unseen

Author: Carol T

championsfaithI find it hard to blog this time of year. Christmas sales are over and January is a down month. but my business is built more on faith then on the dynamics of sales and habits. I have to remember that when things look discouraging.

Faith is something we need to constantly be building up. It tends to wane when we ignore it, and grow when we lean on it. Biblical heroes knew this and were driven by their faith to great heights for God. Through Christian board games we can experience some of the wonder of those deeds. Champions of the Faith allows you to be your favorite Bible character and carry out God’s commands. Spend some time building your faith, and teaching your children the truth of Bible tales, and the faith God gave these men, which can be used by us today to remain faithful and true to the God who loves us.

Learning by Listening and Playing

Author: Carol T

mofjesusWe have the opportunity to set aside the secular toys our children thrive on and allow them to become immersed in the stories God passed down to us in His Word and wants us to learn from. This is an opportunity we shouldn’t waste. our children are small for such a short time and if we don’t catch their attention with the things of God when young, we can lose them.

Christian children’s educational games can look a lot like toys. The stories they hear in church school can be brought alive to them by handling figurines representing Biblical characters. The Messengers of Faith series allows Bible characters to tell their own stories while children play with the character figures, giving the story new meaning and dimension.

Adventures in Odyssey

Author: Carol T

aio_tilrg_1This favorite radio broadcast is heard now in our area at 8pm. It’s a great way wind down your kid’s day and focus their attention on story-lines of faith and moral values. It’s a step up from VeggieTales for a little older kids, and provides adventure and uplifting personalities and story-lines.

The adventure can continue beyond the radio broadcast. A Christian computer game, Adventures in Odyssey brings adventure and interaction with the characters right into your home. Voices from original characters are used, and players get to be Whit, Connie, and Eugene and solve the mystery, following clues and learning moral lessons along the way. Provide entertainment that helps your kids grow spiritually.

Reading For Enjoyment and Growth

Author: Carol T

ArmorQuestsm_1You’re standing in your child’s room and looking around you. What reading material are you seeing? Stories based on popular logo characters? Secular adventure or “youth” books? The literature we provide for our children to read influences a lot of their growth and development, their view of life.

Christian comics are a great way to encourage reading that can have positive impacts on your children’s lives. Armour Quest is a great example of an uplifting, exciting story that teaches while it entertains. Follow Timothy as he seeks to join the forces of good against the evil that has turned his world upside down. He meets a lot of interesting characters and learns to use positive weapons against negative foes. Help your children see the world, and their own part in it from God’s perspective.

Getting to Know You

Author: Carol T

ungameKids can be very shy when around people then don’t know. So getting youth groups together from different churches, for example can be difficult. A great way to get to know each other is to play games together.

The Ungame is a Christian board game, but not a competitive game. It is a way of learning about each other. The players draw cards and answer questions about themselves and their views on life. It’s great to find out you’re not the only one with a certain point of view or background. New friendships can be forged through commonalities. Help your youngsters and even older groups get to know each other and find common ground. This is also available in a Catholic Version.

A Bible Study in a Computer Game

Author: Carol T

BCresurrection An interesting way to learn more about God’s Word is by playing Christian Computer games. Bible tales are told, facts are learned and familiarity with God’s Word grows while playing and having fun. Young minds are more receptive when they don’t feel they are expected to learn.

The Bible Champions games are great for learning Bible truths painlessly. For ages 8 and up, these games tell a Bible tale, then give tasks to the player related to the story. In the process, familiarity to these stories is increased and kids learn and grow. This is a wonderful way to encourage Bible learning with your kids and give them a meaningful way to spend their time.
