Card Games for Serious Gamers

Author: Carol T

timestreamtinChristian gamers can be serious about the fun they have just as secular gamers are, and its great to have a game that gives a Christian outlet to the desire to game.

This is not kiddie stuff. This is a serious, collectable, expandable Christian card game, that’s also good for hours of fun and group or family time. Start out basic and get more complicated as you go and get used to the play.

Use strategy and stretch your intellectual abilities. Watch your kid’s abilities grow, and all with a Christian theme to boot!

Having Fun With VeggieTales

Author: Carol T

veggiebus With all the secular TV out there today, its good to watch your kids enjoying Biblically based story lines and characters with moral teaching and emotional support.

I would like to encourage the VeggieTale line as it is attractive to kids, has great characters that kids become attached to, and teaching points instruct your kids in behavior, attitudes and the spiritual fruits its never to early for them to strive for.

So turn off the TV and entertain your kids with VeggieTales puzzles, books, games, computer games and board and card games. Let them learn while they play.

Growing in Christ with Christian Books

Author: Carol T

epicguideWe need to have our time with god every day. Paul says we should desire the sincere milk of the Word and grow thereby. But he also says we can’t sustain ourselves on the milk, we must grow to study the meat.

Today I want to talk about the great resources available to help us understand the meat and increase our growth. Some of our Bible study time can be spent in studying what others have learned about the Word. God gives some special insight to teach (one of the fruits of the Spirit). Study with Charles Stanley, Charles Swindoll, Joyce Meyer, Max Lucado or many others who god has blessed with the ability to bless you using Christian Devotional books.

God’s Word is essential for our spiritual growth and productivity. Except the help God has provided to assist in your understanding and pray for wisdom and understanding from the Spirit while you study.

togjesus5000Most of the toys our children play with have a secular theme. Is he into Spiderman or Transformers? Is she into Princess or Dora? This says something about our priorities in life. What do we want our children’s imagination used for? God gave us active imaginations for a reason. Why? Perhaps to imagine the good things we can do for Him, or what heaven is like.

Our imaginations can be used for good: writing a good Christian book, or article: or for bad: conniving and scheming to do wrong. Children can use their imaginations and Christian toys to reenact Bible stories and try to imagine what it was like living back then. What would it be like to have really met Jesus in the flesh. How would He have behaved? Biblical toy miniatures can help in these imaginings and can be used to help bring the Bible and our Lord to life in the minds of our children.

Exploring American History with Board Games

Author: Carol T

trailblazersmIt just doesn’t seem like kids have the knowledge of America that they used to have.  Many don’t believe America was settled on a Biblical foundation. The facts memorized in our one-room school houses aren’t considered as necessary in our present school system, and certainly not exciting to our kids.

History wasn’t my subject and remembering dates and people’s names isn’t my forte. It’s easier to learn while having fun and when the facts are real and accurate it’s beneficial too. Play Christian board games as a family or a group and learn together without effort. Study America from your kitchen table. Watch your children learn about America and grow.

ominous_horizonsFight an evil Scorpion, Demon Dragon or Assassin. This is how we save the Holy Word of God and give it to the world. Christian Computer Games are designed to grab interest and support a christian moral code and positive goals. Don’t kill anything, just send it spectacularly back to the underworld.

Give your children an outlet for their adventurous natures that puts them on the side of the right without the violence supported in secular computer and video games. You might even enjoy giving the game a try yourself!

boblarryHow do you unwind? Everyone needs to have coping mechanisms that help them get away from the stresses of their day and get ready to rest for the next day.

Bedtime routines are important and good Christian books, whether being read or read to, are a good relaxer. Another way of easing your stress hormones is working on a puzzle. Christian puzzles also help keep us in mind of what’s important in life. There are many different levels of puzzles, from inlaid Veggitale puzzles to more complicated puzzles with pieces meant to be handled by more skilled hands.

Encourage your children and yourself to have a wind-down time at night before bed, when quieter activities are pursued and a restful night is anticipated. It will encourage a better night sleep and less “discussion” at bedtime. A regular bedtime routine which starts at least an hour before bed with quieter activity is healthy for your kids and good habit for you to get into also.

Hail to the Chiefs

Author: Carol T

hailtothechiefAs Christian parents and loyal citizens its important to be involved in our country’s governmental process. Many of us slight this responsibility. It is disheartening to know how many don’t even register to vote. This is a fault of our upbringing. We aren’t taught as we grow how the country is run or how the election process works. Few children are excited by the social and governmental teaching they get in school.

A help in learning the governmental process and teaching it to your children is to teach by playing. Learn about presidents, elections, and what it takes to get to the White House, yet have a good time doing it, and spend quality family time together playing educational board games. Pass on an interest in the government to your children. They will someday be responsible for who runs it and how its run, just as you are now.

SalvationChallenge We try to show our children the importance of     supporting God’s work and being involved in missions. What better way to use the resources that God gave us then to support works which are winning souls to Christ? Our children will learn to handle their finances as they see us do it, and they can never have too much reinforcement to encourage them to do it God’s way.

Even in our play time together this can be strengthened and supported. Through fun and family togetherness we can teach the Biblical concept of giving through Christian board games. Watch your children give hilariously and joyfully and have quality time with you while they’re learning positive principles for sharing.

Fight for the Faith!

Author: Carol T

biblemancpuWhat better way to reinforce the fact that we need to stand for what we believe then to stand for it in our recreational time also. All of our church going and Bible classes aren’t going to counteract hours of secular play that involve secular values and rewards. Christian Computer games are available that encourage you to stand for the truth and fight the evil forces of today’s world. This is a positive way to enhance our regular Christian teaching.

Be the good guy fighting for the force of good. Christian computer games strengthen positive attitudes and provide challenging puzzles and required tasks that save the world from evil influences!
