VeggieTales Walk on Water

Author: Carol T

dontsinkbgThe VeggieTales are known for their craziness, and that’s what kids like about them. This Christian board game is no exception. It is crazy and wildly fun, but also challenges kid’s memory and strategy. The Veggies have to get from one side of the sink to the other balancing on things that are under the suds, so you have to remember where those things are, or your veggie might disappear until the next game.

The board doesn’t always stay the same, so it’s harder to memorize the board and let your experience give you an advantage. Your kids will have a lot of giggle-time with this game, and as always, play with them. Share the giggles.

It’s About Fun and Laughter

Author: Carol T

babble Nothing is more fun then listening to a group of kids laughing uproariously over something they’re playing. Laughter is much easier to listen to then grousing and grumbling. Expect a lot of laughter playing Babble.

This Christian board game is a matching game, but a very noisy one, so be prepared. Everyone calls out their words at the same time and slaps down their card when they hear someone match theirs. The game is fast moving and fun. Reading is encouraged. Games that make reading a desired ability encourage kids to improve in this area in order to be competitive. Encourage your kids in babbling and laughter.

Where Jesus Walked?

Author: Carol T

scattergories_bibleYet again, another great game that’s been given a Christian twist, Scattergories is a wonderful group game. It takes thought, and reveals player’s peculiarities sometimes. This Christian youth game is designed to keep us mindful of God’s things while we are having good group time. Youth groups and families, as well as adult gatherings will enjoy pitting their brains against other players and trying to come up with the most unique answer to the category given.

A lot of thought has been put into the questions that make this game uniquely a Christian game. Where did Jesus walk that starts with an “F”?

Easy To Play, Difficult to Master

Author: Carol T

tictactwice Games that you can play with your children that they can grasp and yet challenge you are rare. Its a lot more fun to play, though, when you feel stimulated by the contest too.

Tic Tac Twice is an Educational board game in which you have two cards and must play the same piece on each card. One may be to your advantage, and the other may not be. You have to decide which card to favor, or which is best for your chances to win.

This game also includes additional game board design for added fun and challenge. Based on complicated principles, its also fun for eight years old and up.

A Double-Minded Quandry

Author: Carol T

solomons_templeGenerally with Christian games we try not to confuse your kids, but educate or refine them in some good way.  Sometimes that isn’t as easy to pick up on as others. I hope you realize that I’m trying to be humorous :) . That isn’t always as easy to pick up on either.

Solomon’s Temple is really a great Christian board game. The reason I raised the above concern is that each player plays the good guys and the bad guys. As Solomon, you are trying to build your temple, and as the bad guys (the  Babylonians), you are trying to keep the other  player from building his. Throw in a lot of other items and characters and the play gets very interesting. This is a 2 player game, each has their own board and deck of cards. For ages 8 and up. Two Redemption cards are included, King David and King Solomon.

Drawn to Have Fun

Author: Carol T

provwisdomClever ways to keep your young people busy and come up with new Christian youth activities can tax your brain. Youth need fun, noisy, interactive ways to play. After a while our brains seem to dry out as we try to come up with new ideas.

Proverbial wisdom is an interactive game that can play up to sixteen people. The premises is familiar. You get a subject and have to relate it to your team with a sketch. But the subjects are Biblical proverbs. What a fun way to challenge your young people and keep Biblical precepts in mind! This game would also be a blast with your older “youth” groups.

Good Christian Fun

Author: Carol T

outburst_bible_edHave you got an hour to use? With any group of Christian friends, youth or children, this is the best way to enjoy it. Be sure there isn’t a sleeping baby near by, because it can get noisy.

Outburst: Bible edition is another remake of a popular game As a Christian board game this is particularly suited for use in church or youth group situations. There is a subject, and 10 target answers for that subject. Your team has to come up with as many of those target answers as they can in sixty seconds. There is a card viewer, passing chips and a lot of laughter. Try this one for a memorable time of fun in your group.

Getting to Know Your Relations

Author: Carol T

lifestories We don’t “family” like we used to. Grandpas aren’t as likely to pass down stories and teach kids their heritage. The opportunity just come up very often any more to share our memories.

This is what Lifestories is all about. It would be a great Christian game to get out at a family reunion, or anytime a few relatives get together, like the holidays. It will also work between friends, at class reunions. The games ask questions that encourage recalling past events, opinions, hopes and dreams. Its a great way to get to know people again. Do something that goes beyond surface friendship and cursory politeness.
